Carpathian beech forests receive UNESCO World Heritage Site status; 112.international

Ukraine – Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe

Five Ukrainian preserved area objects are added to the list of the World Heritage.

The National nature parks Synevyr, Zacharovany Krai, Podilski Tovtry and nature reserves Gorgany and Roztochya are added to the list of the World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine reported this.

The decision to add 63 blocks of the immemorial beech forests from ten countries to the Ukrainian-Slovakian World Heritage Site of the UNESCO ‘Beech primary forests of Carpathian and the immemorial beech forests of Germany’ was made at the 41st session of Committee on World Heritage of UNESCO in Krakow, Poland.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site status provides the priority of the attraction of the investments to support the sites if the world culture and nature heritage from the World Heritage Fund.
