UNESCO has placed 34 cultural properties in Lebanon under provisional enhanced protection due to the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah. This mirrors actions taken for heritage sites in Ukraine and Palestine. Director-General Audrey Azoulay emphasized UNESCO’s commitment to preserving Lebanon’s exceptional cultural heritage through expertise and assistance.
