Isle of Staffa, Scotland

The Isle of Staffa is 13 km from the Isle of Mull and part of the region of Argyll & Bute in Scotland. Only one of two places in the UK made of Balsam rock. The easiest way to reach the uninhabited island is by boat from Oban, where you can take the Three Isles Day Tour including Mull, Staffa and Iona. It’s a great day out!

Fingals Cave

On the island is Fingal’s cave, once said to have been inhabited by the Scot’s giant Fingal. Who would shout insults and abuse across at Finn McCool the Irish Giant that lived by the Giant’s Causeway. It has been said that both Staffa and the Giant’s Causeway were once connected by a bridge.
