Siestas are still very much a thing in Barcelona, so, during the day, some shops still close in the afternoon, while restaurants and bars take a couple of hours in the early evening to prepare for the night ahead. But when night hits, Barcelona comes alive. We’ve gathered our favourite nocturnal tips for an eclectic night out in the city.
See Gaudí’s work at night
After a day of exploring the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí at Parc Güell and the Sagrada Família, why not take a tour of Gaudí’s Casa Milá, known as La Pedrera, the stone quarry. Although open throughout the day, it’s at night when this small museum really shines. Book a guided tour and see the atmospheric light projections in the Passeig de Gràcia courtyard, or a walk through some of his iconic stone work on the uplit roof terrace.
