Between the Rhone and Saone rivers, the Confluence district is aesthetically unlike anywhere else in Lyon, or even Paris.

There are many reasons to travel to Lyon: Michelin star restaurants, delicious French wines, stunning UNESCO World Heritage sites, temperate temperatures, and a direct train route to and from Paris are just a few of the city’s well-known perks. But soon the second largest city in France, often referred to as the Chicago to Paris’s New York, will also boast another hook: a fully sustainable neighborhood featuring modern architecture and an expanding nightlife scene in a district called the Confluence.

Between the Rhone and Saone rivers, the Confluence district is aesthetically unlike anywhere else in Lyon, or even Paris. “In Paris you’re obliged to respect the story of Paris. You’re obliged to respect every square meter because of the past,” says Cyril Aouizerate.
