The legacy of stone-temple building by the Pallavas was inherited well by the Chola emperors – for a period of over three centuries, these emperors and artisans sustained what could arguably be India’s greatest and grandest temple construction programmes.
Come, join us for a three-day tour of the Great Living Chola Temples this Republic Day long weekend. The tour of the Chola temples will bring us face-to-face with some of the finest temple architectures India has ever produced.
The tour will cover three UNESCO-nominated Great Chola Living Temples – the eleventh- and twelfth-century Brihadisvara Temple at Thanjavur, the Brihadisvara Temple at Gangaikondacholapuram and the Airavatesvara Temple at Darasuram.
