Project to boost visits of the church in Ruská Bystrá; Slovak Spectator

Slovakia – Wooden Churches of the Slovak part of the Carpathian Mountain Area

Tourism agency tries to boost the knowledge about the wooden church in Ruská Bystrá, a UNESCO site, through a project.

The project Karpatské klenoty UNESCO pre rok 2017 / Carpathian UNESCO Gems for 2017, Košice Región Turizmus – the regional tourism agency – is aimed at promoting the only wooden church that is part of the UNESCO heritage list and which is located in the Košice Region.

The Church of the Relics of St. Nicholas in Ruská Bystrá (in the Sobrance District) should also gain a better accessibility, the TASR newswire wrote.

The project offers a trained tourist guide to the church who is at the visitors’ disposal, as well as several notes about the church distributed about.

Currently, a wooden amphitheatre shall be built on the school premises near the village culture house.
