My wife Kathy and I have made several visits to England, but really hadn’t visited Scotland and Wales, so we signed up for Trafalgar’s Best of Britain Tour, which filled in what we’d missed seeing in the British Isles.

We started out with several days in London, where, I’m embarrassed to say, we’d never visited the Victoria and Albert Museum. So, immediately after buying a pre-paid Oyster Card, which allowed us to travel easily on “the Tube” underground (which had lots of “guides” there to help and to stop turnstile jumping) we took the tube to the VA.

Our neighbor Ken Boyd told us to run not walk to the VA café, which is not only beautiful, but also has the most amazing scones, teas and treats, and he was right. A perfect way to start our London stay.
