How Mons, Belgium Became Europe’s New ‘Capital of Culture’; Giovanna Dunmall; CN Traveller

Every year the European Union designates two cities to be European Capitals of Culture for a year. This year, the honorees are Pilsen, Czech Republic, and Mons, a pretty medieval town in Belgium. To celebrate, several new cultural institutions have opened in Mons—here’s a look at what’s new and worth a trip for culture vultures.
